Excellent Eno's

This is Eno's, a fantastic pizza
place in the Bishop Arts
area of Dallas.
I love eating here. The atmosphere is super cozy
& simple. When my friends & I visit we
always seem to end up lounging here & chatting
for three hours.
I always see these tree branches
covered in lights & think it would be a
great idea to try at home.

Top This...

I'm kind of in love with this new color
from Essie called Over the Top. It's dark grey metallic
& is taking over the job for my dark red colors
I normally use during the Winter.

Peace & Puppies

Last week- just after the
Thanksgiving festivities subsided
I had some time to relax.
I had a puppy on my lap & watched the movie Elf
& decorated the Christmas tree & listened to
a really strong cold front blow in.
Perfect & Peaceful (and a little funny- because Elf was on....)

Fall Fast

Or Fast Fall Decorating
courtesy of my fireplace mantle...

I just picked up some pumpkins of various sizes
& some bright red, orange & yellow sunflowers
at my local grocery store
arranged them around my fireplace
& voila!

Two Things

The enamel bangles from J. Crew
which I've collected over the past
two years & haven't seen for a few seasons
have made a comeback! I wear these things practically
every day. I really like the wider camel colored one.

& I really like the current
window...maybe it's all of the yarn involved.

Oh! One more thing....

Fall Preview

I've been super busy lately
& have fallen behind
on the editing of photos from my Summer travels.
SO until then I wanted to share these adorable
little spooky canape plates I spied while perusing
the items at West Elm.
Fall - BRING IT!

Stop

& simply opening
the windows on the very first day
that a cool front blows in
(even if it doesn't get really cool)
is STILL one of my favorite things to do.
No sounds except the wind.
Fall calms me down...

A Photo is Worth a Thousand Words

On the impending arrival of
my brother & his family to visit me
 in Dallas- I'm super excited.
My family doesn't live here & I cherish every time I see them!
I receive so many photos from them, which is wonderful,
but this one sticks out.

I love my brother & my family.
The design of life :)

Praying to the Rain(boot) Gods

My faithful pair of
have waited patiently in the corner
for a few months- waiting for rain
sleet
snow
...any weather, which they have so many times before
protected my tootsies from...
alas, no dice.
Now, I find myself waiting patiently for
aforementioned weather to arrive. I miss
my boots...and the weather.
If you are considering purchasing a pair of wellies
I highly recommend investing in one good pair.
Hunters are about $100 BUT will outlive ten
times over another pair that costs half the amount
& are much more comfy.
This was painfully realized on a blustery March trip
to NYC with a friend who spent about $60 on one
cute flower covered pair, which by the end
of our trip had cracked & given my poor friend
blisters. I hope these Hunters last
ten more years...Weather....Bring It Yo!!!

Of note: Madewell sells a super cute pair of
Hunters that lace up...in what else...Hunter green!

You...Bring Your Green Hat (or Jacket)

This photo from the
September catalog totally makes me look forward to Fall!
I have a green jacket just like this one that's
3 years old from said designer & can't wait to wear it again.
I also JUST got some coral red lipstick from
& that speaks volumes coming from someone who's
favorite lip product is normally
(seriously amazing stuff & a tin lasts about a year),
BUT all of those photos look so great I had to
give bright lipstick a try.
* I would also like to thank J. Crew for
not making their model's hair look too perfect, because Lord
knows I have got some Cuh-RazAE hair going on that is often
thrown up in a messy bun. YOU ROCK!

Marie's Red Room- Design Inspiration

A few weeks ago, in mid-July, I traveled Miami to visit
my very good friend, Marie. She has just moved back to the
United States after living in Buenos Aires, Argentina for about a year. I have always admired Marie's style & taste. She has a way of making something her very own (maybe it's the French part of her being), whether in a fashion sense
or a decorating sense. I fell in love with her room & she was very generous to let me share this wonderful space with you.
The particular thing that I love about her room is the way she incorporates items from her travels & keepsakes from her life into her decorating.
She does an excellent job of using color to pull the whole look of the room together (the color red), but uses mostly a neutral
palette elsewhere. The way she uses different textures & materials
in her room makes for a really unique environment.

Look Around- Design is Everywhere

I have a small problem.
I get caught up in the small details of everyday life.
The way things line up on a shelf.
The colors.
The shapes.
The shadows.
And then I take pictures of it.
So, today I'm going to share some of my
recent musings with you.

A new book from Taschen about Linda McCartney's life.
Her daughter, Stella McCartney talks with
Town & Country about the way her
mother photographed their family & lives.

No, I did not take this, but Garance Dore
always inspires me. She is such an amazing
photographer & artist. I love this photo- great
camera, great style, great city (NYC)!

Beginning & ending with photography, this is my life.
It makes the everyday an interesting place to be..
at least for me.
